Understanding Your Life's Purpose: Aries in Your Astrology Chart
Jun 26, 2025
♈️ You've got Aries in your astrology chart and I wanna teach you how to understand that fiery, passionate energy of yours and what it reveals about your life's purpose.
🔥 Even if you don't have a single planet or your rising sign in Aries, you have Aries occupying one of the houses in your chart.
I practice astrology using the Whole Sign house system, which means every sign occupies one of the 12 houses in your chart.
If you use Placidus or another house system based on the angles in your chart, you might have some signs that don't have any house cusps (aka intercepted) and other signs that have 2 or more.
If that's you, I invite you to take a peek at your chart in Whole Signs to see how it resonates with you and your life experiences. Most astrology software defaults to the Placidus house system, so you'll need to switch the setting to Whole Signs, if you desire.
🤓 I know you're ready to understand Aries, its struggles and superpowers and how you can use it to live your life's purpose, so let's dive in.
Pull up your natal astrology chart. If you've never done this before, you'll need the exact date, time + place of your birth from your birth certificate to get the most accurate understanding of yourself and your purpose. I use astro.com.
Over the next 5ish months, I'm going to walk you through your entire chart, so I invite you to get yourself a small notebook to take notes about your astrological placements and to journal your thoughts. Then you can revisit it as you grow and evolve your understanding of yourself, your astrology and your life's purpose.
If you just can't wait and want to learn all the things about your life's purpose, I invite you to schedule a Purpose Astrology Reading with me.
🧐 Let's get to know Aries
♈️ Aries is the first sign in the zodiac.
Quality: It is a cardinal sign, which means it comes at the beginning of a season. Cardinal energy is the energy to initiate and start something new.
Duality: It is a masculine sign, which means its energy is active and externally focused.
Element: It is a fire sign, which means it has a fiery nature. Fire signs are passionate, intense and bold.
Aries supportive expressions: passionate, driven, courageous, self-starter, warrior-like, physical, sexual, energetic, natural leader
Aries sabotaging expressions: impulsive, struggles with follow through, angry, aggressive, overly competitive, too self-involved
Planetary Ruler: Mars
Planets in Aries: Each planet behaves differently in different signs.
Check your chart to see which planets you have in Aries. Then, scroll down to read all about how that planet acts in Aries AND what that means for your life's purpose.
Also...any aspects to a planet (lines on your chart connecting it with another planet) flavor that planet's expression, so consider if you feel less fiery and Aries-like, this may be why.
☉ Sun: The sun LOVES to be in Aries. If your sun is in Aries, Aries qualities, characteristics and lessons are the most important aspects of your life's purpose.
You're here take up space, unapologetically. Be fiery, blunt and passionate. Blaze your own unique path. Let competition drive you. Be brave and take risks. Learn to express your anger + aggression in healthy + productive ways. Act intentionally, rather than impulsively. Consider other people's wants, needs and desires in addition to your own.
☾ Moon: The moon rules emotions and intuition. With your moon in Aries you have big emotions and visceral intuition. You FEEEL deeply. You run hot, but can burn out fast, emotionally.
When you're making decisions about the next steps on your purpose path, connect with your body to access your intuition. If it's a "yes" you'll feel excited (and a perhaps a bit anxious too). If it's a "no" you'll feel no fire or energy for it.
☿ Mercury: Mercury rules thought, communication and decision making. With your Mercury in Aries, you think fast, speak fast and make decisions fast. You communicate passionately and very directly. You might struggle with sticking to decisions once your passion runs out.
Your purpose involves you motivating and inspiring others with your passionate words and ideas, so be mindful of the words you're choosing and what you're advocating for or against.
♂Mars: Mars likes being in Aries. It feels at home. It is driven to be as fiery, passionate, competitive and brave as it wants to be.
With your Mars here, part of your life's purpose is to be brave with your life and to lead + motivate others to be brave with theirs.
♀Venus: Venus doesn't like being in Aries. Venus is all about partnership + peace. Aries is all about self + competition.
You love passionately and intensely, but the fire can burn out fast. Use your passion to motivate others to join your passionate cause and carry the torch for you, when your fire burns out.
♃ Jupiter: Jupiter is the planet of expansion, wisdom, opportunities and integrity. With your Jupiter in Aries you're adventurous and a bit extra. Extra impulsive. Extra passionate. Extra intense. You make your own luck.
To draw in opportunities to support you on your purpose path, share the wisdom you've gained through your life experiences, with all the passion, excitement and intensity that comes so naturally to you. You'll be magnetic to opportunities for success and expansion.
♄ Saturn: Saturn hates being in Aries. Saturn is the planet of discipline, responsibility and hard work. With your Saturn in Aries you struggle with long-term discipline. You start, but struggle to finish. Your passion tends to burn out before you reach your long-term goals.
Keep that in mind, with everything new that you start or offer in your purpose work. For example...If you're a coach, run shorter programs. If you're a leader, use your fire to initiate others who have the gift of following through on long term goals and hand the projects over to them. If you're a teacher, keep your lessons, short and to the point.
♅ Uranus: This is a generational placement. This generation is either 90 - 98 years old or 6 - 15 years old...so if it doesn't apply to you, you might have someone you love in one of those age groups and this will help you understand them + their life's purpose better.
Uranus brings change, disruption and innovation. With your Uranus in Aries you are a disruptor. You're here to initiate change with your passion. You're here to lead us into a new paradigm that's for the people, by the people.
♆ Neptune: Prior to 3/30/25 there weren't any humans born with this placement since the 1800's. So, this is a heads up for anyone with a new family member born at this time.
Neptune is the planet of compassion, unconditional love and all things spiritual. With Neptune in Aries you're a spiritual warrior here to bring compassion to the planet.
♇ Pluto: Unless you are 172ish years old, you don't have this placement. No humans will have this placement again until 2066.
Whether you do or don't have planets in Aries, check which house Aries occupies in your chart to see the area of life your soul is here to learn to be less impulsive, aggressive and angry and more passionate, driven and brave.
