🌝 Happy 2026 AND happy Cancer full moon on Saturday (1/3/26)!

😎 In numerology, 2026 is a 1 year...the beginning of fresh, new cycle.

πŸ€ͺ 2025 was a 9 year and I bet (whether you realized it or not) you were completing cycles started in 2017, letting people and possessions go and generally dealing with a lot of triggering awarenesses about yourself and your life, in service of making a positive change moving forward.

This full moon in Cancer has Venus, Mars and Mercury conjunct the Sun in Capricorn with Jupiter conjunct the Moon in Cancer.

πŸͺž This is another chance to reflect and release whatever is keeping you from advocating (Cancer) for yourself in relationships (Venus), by taking action (Mars) and saying what needs to be said (Mercury) in service of your soul's expansion and evolution (Jupiter).

When we're not advocated for by our parents or guardians in childhood, we grow up and abandon ourselves.

πŸ₯Ί We take care of everyone else and ignore our own needs.

We've been taught that's noble and something to take pride in. It is not.

❀️‍πŸ”₯ Taking care of others and advocating for them from the kindness of your heart is a beautiful gift.

πŸ˜• Doing it because you feel obligated or need to prove your value to those humans, lands very differently with the people you're caring for.

It's service devoid of love and laced with egoic expectations.

There's no shame in it. You were taught to believe behaving this way is a GOOD thing.

🧐 But lemme ask you this: How does it FEEL?

😍 When you're caring for others from a full cup because you're overflowing with love and a deep desire to be of service, how does that FEEL in your body?

Take a moment, imagine a scenario when you did that and FEEL into it and answer. It's not rhetorical.

😩 Now, when you're helping others because you feel obligated (like you have no choice, other than to give people what they want, simply because they want it from you) or because you're trying to prove your value, how does that FEEL in your body?

Take a moment, imagine a scenario when you did that and FEEL into it.

Notice the difference? Give each of those feelings a NAME.

For me, I feel soul-nourished in the first scenario and resentful in the second scenario.

πŸ₯° In case you need the reminder, you deserve the nurturing, healing and advocating you do for others.

You have nothing to prove. You are worthy and valuable simply because you exist.

🫢🏼 I wanna share with you a practice to help support you with advocating for yourself more.

Grab your handy, dandy journal and pen.

With one page for each of the following areas of your life, I want you to make two sections, one on the top of the page with the heading: Start Doing and one half way down the page with the heading: Stop Doing. Then for each area of life, if you were advocating for yourself, what would you start doing that you're not currently doing AND what would you stop doing that you are currently doing.

Areas to evaluate:

  • Relationships
  • Money/Finances
  • Career/Job
  • Health (mental, physical, emotional)
  • Spirituality
  • Fun/Recreation
  • Home/Environment

For example: If I were advocating for myself in relationships...

🟒I would start doing:

-asking for what I need from hubby

-tell my mother how much fractures my trust every time she says she'll call back and then doesn't

πŸ›‘I would stop doing:

-hoping hubby will guess what I need and give it to me

-pretending I don't have needs (or they don't really matter) with my mom, friends and kids

πŸ“ Go through and do this for each of the areas of life listed above. Don't rush. Give yourself space to really evaluate your life. Let the list be a running list you can come back and add to at anytime. 

This work isn't light and fluffy, but it's real and it's honest.

Awareness is usually the first step to making a lasting change.

πŸ’‘ This exercise is intended to shine a big ol' light on the ways you're self-abandoning, so you can start showing up for yourself like you show up for everyone else.
